2023 Legacy of Family Award Honorees
Juan and Amy
Arambula
The RSF recognizes Juan and Amy Arambula for their humble beginnings and for their contributions to the Fresno community. Thank you to Juan for his integrity, leadership, and 25 years of public service. Thank you to Amy for her community service, advocacy, character, and morals and values. Juan and Amy have empowered our community by promoting and advocating for education, access to healthcare, and by serving as a voice for the underserved in the Central Valley. They both demonstrate a strong work-ethic and resemble characteristics of Gusmaro & Bernarda P. Reyes, namesake of this award and scholarship.

Juan and Amy’s have raised four amazing children which make them proud as they too dedicate their lives to serving others. The Reyes Scholarship Fund also recognizes Assemblyman Dr. Joaquin Arambula, Diego Arambula, Ed.D., Carmen Arambula, M.A., and Miguel Arambula for their contributions and hard work – as they build upon their parents’ legacy.

2022 Gusmaro & Bernarda P. Reyes Legacy Award & Scholarship Fundraiser Honored Juan Felipe Herrera and Steve Alcala.
On March 26, 2022, the RSF honored Steve Alcala - RHS and Fresno State Alumnus, Musician, Educator, and Music Publisher - and Juan Felipe Herrera - U.S. Poet Laureate and former Fresno State Department Chair, Chicano and Latin American Studies -- for their contributions to our communities and the legacies they are building for others.
2021 Gusmaro & Bernarda P. Reyes Legacy Awardees Honored Joseph & Mary Castro
On February 27, 2021, the RSF presented the Reyes Legacy of Family Award to California State University Chancellor Joseph Castro and First Lady Mary Castro. Visionaries. Builders. Contributors. Bold Leaders. Lead by Example. Power Couple. These words just begin to describe the accomplishments and service to the next generation of leaders.

In May, the next cohort of Reyes Scholars will be presented a certificate to recognize their 2023-24 Scholarship Award.
